Individual Therapy

Psychotherapy can help individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and relationships. It can also aid individuals in making important connections between past experiences and present day feelings and behaviors. When one has a greater self awareness  and a better understanding of one’s history and past, the ability to make healthier choices in life increases. Psychotherapy is be a place to explore who you authentically are and what you genuinely want in life.

I am worth it

In my practice, I offer therapy for individuals, couples, and groups.  I also offer workshops which can be found under the “group therapy and workshops” tab on this site.

Working with a diverse clientele  who include a wide range of ages, cultural backgrounds, orientations, and professions I have found that individual therapy is just that…individual.  Depending on your needs, the best practice can be discussed during your initial session.

Many people come to psychotherapy not knowing where to begin or what to expect. Some of the things that we may discuss include:

  • How you are living your life now compared to how you would like to live your life
  • How to feel the relief of moment-to-moment awareness
  • The blocks which prevent you from living your life more fully
  • Your relationships and how you would like them to be different
  • The beliefs and feelings you have about yourself, others, and the world
  • The way that these  beliefs and feelings  may be causing you suffering and discomfort
  • The connection between your past experiences and present day behaviors
  • Relationship difficulties or emotionally-based sexual issues
  • Your childhood and family background

Fees

I have a set fee for individual and couples therapy per 50-minute session. I also offer sliding scale rates for individuals and couples with financial limitations. Please call me to discuss the your financial abilities and needs, I encourage you to let me know.

If I cannot accommodate your financial situation, I have many referrals to an agency or individual who can.

While I do not accept insurance, I  can provide you with monthly invoices so that you can seek reimbursement from your respective insurance company.  It varies depending on your insurance as to whether or not services from psychological assistants is covered.  It is always best to call your insurance company to discuss benefit details.
