Denise has worked in various clinical settings including Early Intervention with infants and toddlers, a day treatment program for individuals who have had traumatic brain injuries, rape crisis and counseling centers, doing outreach in faith based communities and high schools on stress management, body image, sexuality and LGBTQ issues, community mental health clinics, and a college counseling center. Her clinical interests include spirituality and recovery, eating disorder intervention and recovery, mindfulness, identity, and body image.

Currently, a pre-doctoral intern with Access Institute for Psychological Services, Denise is training psychoanalytically while seeing individuals and couples in the outpatient clinic as well as providing play therapy for children through the school-based program.

Access Institute is a non-profit community mental health clinic and training program for pre- and post-doctoral psychologists and post-masters MFTs.  The  outpatient clinic serves individual adults, children and couples.  Additionally,  Access offers a school-based therapy and consultation program at a San Francisco Elementary School in addition to an Elderly Adult Program.
